Nissan unveiled this week in Europe the second generation of its compact crossover, the Juke. The new Juke, last sold in the United States for the 2017 model year, will go on sale in Europe later this year.
The 2020 Nissan Juke is new, but it is not very different from its predecessor (to be explored in detail on the blog Auto Actu). The original Juke was known for its funky style, and Nissan has retained the same basic design language for the new model, but in a more modern package.

The front of the Juke has been softened for the new model year, and the headlights are now LED units with a distinctive “Y” light pattern. Nissan’s grille design is also prominent at the front of the Juke’s snout.
Like the original, the new Juke has a coupe-like roofline. The rear of the roof, however, has been updated to incorporate a floating design that was first used on the Nissan Murano. The rear of the Juke features sharper lines and standard LED taillights.

Inside, the new Juke boasts a more spacious cabin with improved legroom and headroom for passengers. The trunk space has increased by about 20% for the new model.
According to Nissan, the Juke’s interior is better equipped than before with new soft-touch materials, an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility, and a Bose audio system with integrated headrests.
The Juke is powered by a 1.0-liter turbo-3 that produces 115 horsepower. A 6-speed manual transmission is standard, while a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission is offered as an option.
For the first time, the 2020 Juke is equipped with Nissan’s ProPilot driver assistance system, which brings automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, and active lane control.
So far, Nissan has kept mum on the availability of the Juke in the United States, but it is expected that the compact crossover will land on these shores at some point. The new Juke will go on sale in Europe in November.
